The Los Angeles-based International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) has announced the 2022 award Nominees.

The prizes are divided into 15 categories, ranging from early music before 1600 through contemporary music. There are seven special prizes given out, including lifetime accomplishment and artist of the year.

In order to be considered for a spot on the shortlist, a recording must be nominated by at least two members of the jury. Out of the 129 labels nominated, Alpha BIS and Naxos received the most nominations.

Notable nominations include Frank Peter Zimmermann for his recordings of Beethoven, Berg, and Bartok concerti, and Vadim Gluzman for his recordings of Beethoven and Schnittke concerti.

The winners will be revealed in January, before the awards ceremony takes place in Luxembourg in April 2022. The full list is available here.
