Ontario’s Elora Festival has just announced a new three-day mini-festival online with some of the biggest names in Canadian classical music between August 6 – 8, 2020.
The artist line-up includes performances by The Elora Singers, soprano Measha Brueggergosman, tenor Lawrence Wiliford, lutenist Lucas Harris, soprano Patricia O’Callaghan, jazz pianist and singer-songwriter Laila Biali, a new chamber musical The Missing Pages by Tom Allen, and Confluence Concerts.
“This has certainly been a difficult time for the cultural community around the world,” said Artistic Director Mark Vuorinen. “Concert halls are dark, and artists have lost many performance opportunities since the middle of March. The absence of live performance during this pandemic has been deeply felt by all of us, and we are looking forward to presenting some of the artists who had been engaged for this summer’s festival, but at a distance, in pre-recorded performances from their homes and studios.”
The festival will also offer a virtual taste of Elora’s culinary scene with cooking demos from local chefs.
