(via) The future is here. Meet The Collidoscope, a prototype double granular synth designed and built by researchers Fiore Martin & Ben Bengler. It samples sound live and displays the sound wave visually in real-time, allowing it to be played back instantly. It also allows a portion of the sample to be edited live with the visual selection. This changes the relationship between the performer and sampling process, allowing a for a interrupted its flow idea for live performance.
Unfortunately the Collidoscope is only a prototype and not for sale, and there is no price tag (yet).
