Being a composer in the 21st century is no easy task, and despite composing a work declared by some to be, “the best orchestral work that the 21st century has seen thus far”, we learn that a composers process is often rife with internal struggles.
Musical Toronto’s Vincent Ho caught up with composer, Andrew Norman to share an open conversation about what it means to be a “living” composer. During the hour-long chat, Norman also shares his thoughts on how establishing a career early in his life has impacted his creative development. He also exposes his vulnerable side as he opens up about the dangers of gaining international recognition at such an early age.
