Concertmaster | Noun | \ˈkän(t)-sərt-ˌmas-tər\ | The Concertmaster, from the German Konzertmeister, is the principle first violin, typically seated closest to the audience to the left of the Conductor/Music Director. Their job, amongst other things, is to determine the bowing, and lead the orchestra in tuning before concerts and rehearsals.
