We often think of composers shut-away in their studios, working endlessly upon their scores and commissions. But the truth is out!
Composers, in a frenzy of normality, are quite adept at yard work. Who else is going to trim their hedges, mow their lawns, and weed their flower beds?
The real unfinished symphony…
Aaron Copland raking up leaves
Gustav Mahler taking a break after mowing the lawn.
John Adams doing some landscaping with a levelling rake
Arthur Honegger mowing the lawn
Anton Webern planting flowers
Karlheinz Stockhausen about to trim the hedge
John Cage excitedly picking mushrooms
Tobias Picker cutting down a tree. (His beard in its natural habitat)
