Yes, it is possible to make a great classical music video that doesn’t dumb down the art

One of my favourite younger ensembles, the 8-year-old Aurora Orchestra in London, has made a wonderful art-song video using Ivor Gurney’s “Sleep” (appropriate today) gorgeously sung by tenor Allan Clayton.

I’ve been feeling depressed about the state of art song in Toronto recently, and this has given me hope for the form as well as the eventual recovery of the lost hour of rest:
