Isn’t it great that the spring solstice coincides with the birthday of J.S. Bach, 327 years ago?
How much other music is as endlessly versatile as Bach’s, which has survived the Stokowskian Symphony of 1,000 steamroller, getting hooked on Disco, being run through Moog synthesizers, and blithely do-wopped by the Swingles Singers.
There are several new and notable pure-Bach discs just out, which I have to listen to a bit more before I can review.
