Nous vous pr\u00e9sentons cinq romans o\u00f9 la musique joue un r\u00f4le essentiel.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>1-<em> Les Variations Goldberg <\/em>de Nancy Huston<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Comment d\u00e9finir l\u2019univers de la prestation musicale ? Est-elle un objet social comme le pr\u00e9tend Theodor Adorno ? En 1981, Nancy Huston r\u00e9dige son premier roman, <em>Les Variations Goldberg<\/em>. Liliane Kulainn a invit\u00e9 ses intimes le temps d\u2019un concert o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on joue les <i>Variations Goldberg <\/i>au clavecin. Tous ces invit\u00e9s connaissent intimement la claveciniste, allant du p\u00e8re de l\u2019artiste \u00e0 l\u2019ex-conjoint en passant par les amours f\u00e9minines anciennes de Liliane. Les chapitres distincts s\u2019immiscent dans les pens\u00e9es de chaque convive; c\u2019est un journal intime sur les tensions, les souvenirs et les d\u00e9sirs inavou\u00e9s raviv\u00e9s par la musique de <strong>Bach<\/strong>. Suivant le courant du post-modernisme, la structure narrative de Huston s\u2019\u00e9clate, jouant sur la basse continue, le d\u00e9nominateur commun qu\u2019est Liliane. \u00c0 travers les chapitres, chaque voix s\u2019entrem\u00eale indirectement avec celle des autres. Native de Calgary, l\u2019expatri\u00e9e r\u00e9dige en France un huiti\u00e8me roman rappelant sa passion pour le piano. Des bribes de r\u00e9flexions \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re personne s\u2019entrecroisent en un casse-t\u00eate de th\u00e8mes et sous-th\u00e8mes. On comprend alors le sous-titre <i>Polyphonie<\/i>. L\u2019histoire d\u00e9peint la relation m\u00e8re-fille, symbiotique \u00e0 la folie, entre Lara et Maya. La m\u00e8re, pianiste-enseignante, souffre autant de son infertilit\u00e9 que de ses limites musicales. Lorsque l\u2019enfant na\u00eet pr\u00e9matur\u00e9ment, la pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 fragilise Lara. Dans l\u2019angoisse de perdre Maya, Lara promet que le b\u00e9b\u00e9 deviendra prodige et qu\u2019elle vivra la musique. La musique y tient un r\u00f4le primordial. C&rsquo;est \u00e0 partir d\u2019elle que la trame narrative se d\u00e9roule et que le r\u00e9cit pourra exister.
