{"id":836,"date":"2022-10-03T17:57:03","date_gmt":"2022-10-03T17:57:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/main\/?p=836"},"modified":"2022-10-03T17:57:15","modified_gmt":"2022-10-03T17:57:15","slug":"20-predictions-for-the-future-of-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ludwig-van.com\/main\/2022\/10\/03\/20-predictions-for-the-future-of-music\/","title":{"rendered":"20 Predictions For The Future Of Music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ted Gioia is a music historian and author who writes one of the best music newsletters going: <a href=\"https:\/\/tedgioia.substack.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Honest Broker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This week he had a mysterious dream, and woke up with 20 predictions for what music will look like\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2026Ten years from now<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The only child of the CEO of Google\/Alphabet will date a musician with no discernible talent, but who now suddenly shows up everywhere on search engine results and even wins a prominent music industry award.<\/li>\n<li>A major Silicon Valley company will announce that it has created the \u2018next Beethoven\u2019 with quantum computing technology.<\/li>\n<li>A legitimate musical counterculture will arise, with a cadre of new artists achieving superstar status while rejecting the roles of influencer and content provider. The motto \u201cmusic comes first\u201d will be a key part of their marketing message. The movement will have a name, but that word doesn\u2019t exist yet.<\/li>\n<li>Web platforms will have destroyed record labels\u2014which will no longer play a meaningful role in building the careers of new artists.<\/li>\n<li>A reality TV show will launch a very popular song competition. But only children under the age of 8 will be allowed to vote. The success of the show will create a popular new genre known as TDM (Toddler Dance Music).
