Lim\u2019s album marked his debut recording with Decca Classics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s the buzz:<\/strong> Earlier this week, Apple Music announced its most-played albums of 2024. Topping the classical charts was pianist <a href=\"https:\/\/imgartists.com\/roster\/yunchan-lim\/\">Yunchan Lim<\/a>\u2019s recording of <a href=\"https:\/\/store.deccaclassics.com\/products\/chopin-etudes-limited-exclusive-cd-fanpack\">Chopin \u00c9tudes, Op. 10 and Op. 25<\/a>. Released in April with Decca Classics, Lim\u2019s recording follows the 20-year-old South Korean pianist\u2019s previous releases of his Van Cliburn-winning performance of Liszt\u2019s Transcendental \u00c9tudes and his recording of Beethoven\u2019s \u201cEmperor\u201d Piano Concerto No. 5. The album has received triple platinum status in South Korea.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digging Deeper:<\/strong> Apple Music Classical listeners tend to favour piano music. Other albums listed in Apple Music\u2019s top five classical albums of 2024 included releases from pianists Lang Lang, Gina Alice, and Mao Fujita. Perennial favourite Max Richter\u2019s \u201cSleep\u201d album also made the list, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maxrichter-sleep.com\/en\/\">described by Richter<\/a> as an 8-hour lullaby.<\/p>\n<p>Yunchan Lim has been lauded for his ability to bring together <a href=\"https:\/\/imgartists.com\/roster\/yunchan-lim\/\">prodigious technique and profound musicality<\/a>. Born in 2004, Lim began playing the piano at age 7, a mere 13 years ago.
