Lang Lang is the first Asian pianist to be honoured by the organization, and is being recognized for his \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/walkoffame.com\/press_releases\/world-renowned-classical-pianist-lang-lang-to-be-honored-with-star-on-the-hollywood-walk-of-fame\/\">outstanding contributions to the world of classical music\u201d as well as his \u201cextraordinary talent.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Catch-up:<\/strong> This isn\u2019t the first blockbuster award for the 41-year-old pianist. In 2009, Lang Lang was named one of Time Magazine\u2019s 100 Most Influential People (<a href=\"https:\/\/content.time.com\/time\/specials\/packages\/article\/0,28804,1894410_1893836_1894420,00.html\">check out his Time profile by jazz legend Herbie Hancock<\/a>). Sports fans may also recognize the virtuoso from his performances at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lLx9Dkd5ppA\">2008 Beijing Olympics\u2019 Opening Ceremony<\/a> as well as the final of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gO-Eea3hn_c\">2014 Fifa World Cup<\/a>. Lang Lang is also a philanthropist. His charity, the<a href=\"https:\/\/langlangfoundation.org\/programs\/koi-uk\/\"> Lang Lang International Music Foundation and Keys of Inspiration\u00ae<\/a>, brings musical education to underserved British state schools. Lang Lang is also a UNICEF Ambassador and UN Messenger of Peace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digging deeper:<\/strong> And no worries, the classical phenom still spends some time at the keys. His most recent recordings include Lang Lang-Saint-Sa\u00ebns (2024), which shares works suitable for young audiences including Carnival of the Animals, The Piano Book (2019), and his take on the infamously challenging Bach Goldberg Variations (2020). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.langlangofficial.com\/\">His tour schedule<\/a> takes him to 16 cities in the next two months alone.
