Heart monitors were also donned by the accompanying Philadelphia Orchestra and select audience members for an experiment through Carnegie Hall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The findings:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classicfm.com\/artists\/yuja-wang\/heart-rate-rachmaninov-marathon\/\">The experiment\u2019s results<\/a>, which were released last week, revealed consistent heartbeat synchronization between Wang and conductor N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin. Another striking discovery was that the audience and orchestra\u2019s heartbeats also synced with Wang\u2019s and N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin\u2019s during a particularly touching moment of the 3rd Piano Concerto. Wang herself could reportedly identify different musical landmarks in each piece just by looking at her heart rate patterns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Context is everything:<\/strong> Last year, a professor at the University of Bern in Switzerland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classicfm.com\/music-news\/audience-heartbeats-breath-synchronise-classical-concert\/#:~:text=The%20body%20sensors%20found%20that,in%20sweat%20on%20their%20fingertips.\">conducted another study<\/a> monitoring audience members\u2019 heart and breath rate responses to classical music. The study found that audiences breathe, sweat and move at similar rates while listening to the same music. In 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/news\/2023-11-miraculous-effect-music-concerts-people.html\">another study<\/a> showed how attending classical concerts promotes social bonding.
